For those looking to create an online presence your own website is probably the most important thing you require. Whilst it is possible to use Facebook, Amazon, Ebay etc to hold your web shop, it is never 'your own' hence can be a risk. So if you are planning doing your own website, where should you start?
If only it were that simple, send a newsletter then sit back and let the money roll in! But we all know it's not that easy, it takes time and a good strategy/plan to execute. So this blog post will cover how one recent newsletter we sent for a client resulted in over £2k worth of business.
It's pretty simple really, the reason you have a website is to attract customers and grow your business. Even if you say it's just to let people know you are there or your opening times, the reason the website is there is to get that customer in your door or to buy from you. So forget what you want to put on your website, start thinking about what your customer needs from your web presence.
During a consultancy call with one of our clients this week we talked about building their email list with an aim to initiate a regular newsletter. Whilst they have sign up options on their website and they could ask people direct to sign up (or add folk without their permission which is both not allowed and bad practice so don't do it), this tactic will most likely only get a very small return.
